About Me

I love telling people how I spent my childhood in the small southern town of Leland, MS and am now back in Missouri (for a second time) after living six years in Wisconsin, because it gets them asking about my journey. There has definitely been one. So between my story and theirs, we’ve always got something interesting to talk about!

I also love that God has given me such a variety of experiences, from being a military wife and a high school counselor, to being an active sports mom and working in various forms of church ministry and school settings in different states, all of which have broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of the world and people around me.

I can list for you my top three favorite things: being wife to my husband Russell (for 28 years), being mom to three imperfectly wonderful kids and seeing God work in their lives, and creating…creating just about anything, from mixed media art and graphics, to creative food, to seasonal decor, to written messages and website content. I especially like to create lovely things from old, broken, or junky things – redesigning and repurposing. Isn’t that a lot like our lives? A lot of junk that we need to rethink and rework…as it takes us to the feet of Jesus. I have found when I try to do anything without seeking Him first (or seeking Him at all), I regret it later.

I’m tired of regrets. John 15:5 says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” When we connect to Jesus, the “true vine,” and let God be “the gardener” (John 15:1), amazing things happen in our gardens even in the struggle. God builds our character there. And HOPE grows there.

That’s when we start to change and bear “fruit that will last” (John 15:16), and we love our families better…unconditionally…the way God loves us.

Our families are changed as He uses US to reach their hearts for eternity…our most worthy battle.

I have a passion for promoting emotional and spiritual health in women, awareness of self and others to promote relational health, and financial and occupational health. I have worked in church ministry and in both public and Christian education settings for a combined total of 17 years. I have an MS in Educational Psychology/Guidance and Counseling, an Advanced Certificate in Life Coaching from Light University, am a Ramsey Solutions Financial Coach and a Certified Christian Enneagram Coach with YEC. I’m also a member of Proverbs 31 Ministries Compel Training and a student of God’s word! I live in Rogersville, MO with my husband and two wiener dogs and have three young-adult children.
